Counselling

Delphine is a qualified Person-Centred counsellor from the University of Strathclyde and a member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP). Alongside her private work, Delphine works as a therapist for CHANGES Health Community Project in Musselburgh and has particular experience supporting and counselling individuals suffering from stress, anxiety and depression. She is able to offer counselling in both English and French. In her spare time, Delphine likes walking, reading and meditating.

Sheena Livingstone

Sports and Remedial Massage

 

Sheena is a Remedial Massage Therapist, with Diplomas in Advanced Remedial Massage, Sports Therapy, Sports and Remedial Massage, Swedish Massage and Indian Head Massage. She is a member of the Scottish Massage Therapists’ Organisation and is in the process of completing a Diploma in Manipulative Therapy with the Northern Institute of Massage.  In addition to working at the Hawthorn Health Clinic she has her own clinic in West Linton where she specialises in resolving musculoskeletal injuries, which includes problems with backs, necks, shoulders and knees.  She also heads the rehabilitation for Biggar Rugby Club. In her spare time, Sheena is a keen hillwalker, sailor and chorister.

Jacqui Loudon BSC, RMT, DSM, OSM

CranioSacral Therapy (CST), Sports & Remedial Massage

 Jacqui has been practicing CranioSacral Therapy since 2004 and has certificates in CST I, CST II, CST Paediatrics and SER1 (SomatoEmotional Release) from the Upledger Institute UK.  She is also a Remedial Massage Therapist, holding Diplomas in Sports and Remedial Massage, Swedish Massage and On-Site Massage and is in the process of completing a Diploma in Advanced Remedial Massage. She is a member of the Scottish Massage Therapists' Organisation and the CNHC(Complementary and Healthcare Council). She has also completed Levels 1 & 2 of training in the use of Bach Flower Remedies

Mary McHugh MSc (Pharmacy), Dip Psych Pharmacy

Reverse Therapy

MaryMary trained in Reverse Therapy with Dr John Eaton in London, after seeing the benefits for a family member with M.E., and achieved accreditation in 2006.  She has many years experience working in the NHS as a clinical pharmacist within a mental health team, having recently retired from this work. Mary is fascinated by the healing effect of attentively listening to our natural body wisdom.  She enjoys country walks, singing in the church choir and family activities.

Ruth Muheim

photo of RuthRuth has worked as a qualified therapist since 2003. Her treatments are very relaxing and adjusted to the differing  needs of the clients. Ruth will uses each treatments on its on and also uses some of them together in a session if desired. With her work she helps the body to find its own balance, releasing tensions and helping to find well-being in body and mind.

Ruth is Swiss and moved with her family to Edinburgh in 1999. In her free time she likes to taking walks, reading, gardening cooking and different kind of crafts.

Hanka Psenicova Dip ITEC

Holistic Massage, Reflexology, Indian Head Massage

HankaHanka received her massage diploma in 2002 from the Edinburgh Therapy Academy, since then she has studied to understand pain and how to relieve it.  She qualified in Jing advanced massage training and learned how to help people with back pain, neck pain, frozen shoulder and sciatica. Hanka is also interested in alternative medicine, enjoys yoga, walking and nature.

Susan Robertson, BA (Hons), CPFA, D.Hyp, BSCH

Susan has been practising as a Clinical Hypnotherapist since studying with the London College of Clinical Hypnosis (LCCH) and gaining a Diploma in Clinical Hypnosis with Distinction in 2001. She has continued her studies and now also holds the LCCH Practitioner Diploma and the LCCH Diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapy. She has attended various masterclasses on specific topics, such as single session Stop Smoking.  Susan is  a member of the British Society of Clinical Hypnosis and is bound by their code of ethics.

Ruth Taylor BMus (Hons), PG Dip.,Counselling, MBACP

Ruth trained as a counsellor, first at Edinburgh's Stevenson College, and then at the University of Strathclyde.  She is a member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP).  As well as her private work, Ruth has experience of counselling individuals with a variety of concerns and difficulties both within a GP practice and within Women's Aid.  Outside of work, she enjoys walking, gardening, crafts and music.

Kathryn Watt BSc (Herbal Medicine), MNIMH

Western Medical Herbalism, CranioSacral Therapy (CST)

KathyrnKathryn has certificates in CST I, CST II, and SER1 in CranioSacral Therapy from the Upledger Institute UK, and is a qualified Medical Herbalist. She has been practising in Edinburgh for three years. She believes the two therapies truly complement each other, and work well with other therapies. Kathryn worked as a scientist for 22 years, before training as a Medical Herbalist, and found the knowledge gained useful in the training and practice of both therapies.   Kathryn is one of the three partners in Hawthorn Health Clinic and enjoys helping to achieve the clinic’s aim of providing a complementary health service to the community.  Outside work, Kathryn’s interests include reading, growing herbs, receiving various therapies, and spending time with her family and friends.
