At Hawthorn Holistic Therapies we do offer professional service. Each therapist is qualified in their field and brings their own experiences and knowledge.

Kathryn Watt

Kathryn Watt

Western Medical Herbalism, CranioSacral Therapy (CST)

Kathryn has certificates in CST I, CST II, and SER1 in CranioSacral Therapy from the Upledger Institute UK (2006 and 2007), a BSc Hons (First Class) in Herbal Medicine (Phytotherapy) from Napier University (2006), Level 1 and Level 2 AAMET Certificates in Emotional Freedom Technique (2012 and 2013), Level 1 Certificate in the use of Bach Flower Remedies (2010), and Level 1 in Kinetic Chain Release (2014). She has been practicing both Herbal Medicine and CranioSacral Therapy since September 2006. She believes all the therapies truly complement each other, and work well with other therapies.

​​Kathryn has also been working in various areas of science since 1983, and found the knowledge gained useful in the training and practice of both therapies. Kathryn was one of the three partners involved in the setting up of Hawthorn Health Clinic, which later evolved into Hawthorn Holistic Therapies, and enjoyed helping to achieve the clinic’s aim of providing a complementary health service to the community.​ 

 

Outside work, Kathryn’s interests include reading, research, growing herbs, cooking, receiving various therapies, and spending time with her family and friends.​.

Ruth Muheim   I.T.E.C. dip

Holistic Massage, Reflexology, Indian Head M, Hot Stone Therapy, Reiki, Aromatherapy

Ruth has worked as a qualified therapist since 2003. With her treatments she aims to ease tensions and get body and mind in to a relaxing state. The different therapies are used as different tools adjustable to the client’s preferences to get a treatment tailored to the clients wishes. 

With her work she aims to helps the body to find its own balance, releasing tensions and helping to find well-being in body and mind.

Outside work Ruth likes to go for walks, gardening, cooking, reading, 5 rhythm dance ....

Julien (Rowan Health) is an experienced homeopath offering in-person appointments in Edinburgh  and online consultations worldwide.

 

He has a wide scientific and medical background (BSc(Hon) Biomathematics & Biochemistry, Osteopath DO Fr., Lic. Acupuncture, Lic. Tibetan medicine, Lic. Homeopathy, Dip. Homeopathy IACH) and has worked with the Olympic Committee and GPs in several countries.

Very much engaged in ensuring good practice and high quality treatments in alternative holistic medicine, he teaches in several organisations and works alongside Prof. Vithoulkas, Alternative Nobel Price holder, at the International Academy for Classical Homeopathy to train medical doctors worldwide.

Hanka Psenicova Dip ITEC

 

Therapeutic  Massage, MFR, CST, Reflexology,  Hot Stone Massage, Sound Therapy

Hanka received  her massage diploma in 2002 and since then she's been learning  new techniques to help people relieve their pain, ease sore muscles and make them feel blissfully relaxed.

Ultimately she aims to make her clients feel better.

 

In her spare time she loves spending time in nature, reading,  dancing,  yoga,

qi gong,listening  to interesting  podcasts.

Colin Cunninghame BSc

 

Shiatsu

Colin began his professional training with The Shiatsu School Edinburgh in 2001, graduating in 2005.

He initially started learning Shiatsu at evening classes, prior to the professional training, where his interest in the subject grew even more.

Colin has worked professionally for many years, he works with a wide range of clients, treating issues from physical aches and pains to insomnia, anxiety and stress.

As a therapist, I firmly believe that each of us holds the answers to our own issues within. My role here is to help you recognise these and support you in working through them. I will aim to create a trusting counselling relationship throughout our sessions, where you can feel able to express your feelings in an empathic and accepting environment. Through this collaboration, our aim would be for you to gain a deeper understanding of yourself,  in turn facilitating the change you are aspiring to achieve.

Over the years, I have worked in various settings, including Counselling Agencies, Charities, Employee Assistance Programme and in High Schools. My work has covered a diverse set of peoples issues, ranging from trauma, bereavement and addiction, to relationship issues or any other aspects of life which may have become a burden.
